Spin Classes have arrived at Paradise Gym!

Chances are you’ve probably heard of them before, Spin Classes at Paradise Gym (otherwise known as indoor cycling – but that doesn’t sound as cool, right?) involve a stationary bike, upbeat music and a workout that will get your entire body moving!

Spin Classes focus on endurance and strength. They involve intervals of high intensity and recovery, and they boast a range of health benefits. Here are 4 reasons you need to get pedalling:

1. Spin Classes are low impact

Spin Classes are a low-impact exercise which is easy on the joints. If you are recovering from a recent injury, or just need to take things a little more gently – these classes are low risk in comparison to everyday bike riding where you face the risk of falling or colliding with another rider. For people with mobility issues or joint pain, indoor cycling can be a great way to keep active while avoiding pain.

2. Spin Classes promote a healthy heart!

Cardiovascular fitness is the ability of the heart, blood cells and lungs to provide oxygenated blood to our muscles allowing them to produce energy so we can move… So yeah, you could say it’s pretty important! Spin Classes involve a fantastic cardiovascular workout and can help build lower-body muscle strength.

Promoting regular breathing and vascular strength, these classes are a safe and effective way for you to increase your cardiovascular fitness under the supervision of highly qualified Spin instructors. This type of regular exercise reduces your chances of Coronary Heart Disease and cardiovascular health problems.

3. You take it at your own pace…

Whether you’re a beginner cyclist or a seasoned pro, this workout is in your hands! We’ll pump the tunes and get the energy going in our Spin Classes, and our Spin Instructor will guide you every step of the way – but this is your workout, you set the pace, push your limits and when you need to slow down, that’s okay too.

This is a group class, but you’re not working in a team, so you can adjust the intensity to suit your needs by either reducing or increasing the resistance, by going faster or slowing down – which makes Spin Class a great workout for beginners.

4. The results, need we say more?

One of the best advantages of our Spin Classes is the increase in muscle definition you’ll notice in your legs and core once you get started! Cycling recruits your whole body, not just your quads. Once you start to get the hang of Spin, you’ll start turning up the resistance and really start to feel the burn throughout your entire body – and that added resistance pushes your muscles to work harder, and ultimately makes you get stronger and stronger.

For this reason, you’ll gradually lose fat and build muscle with spin classes – so whilst you might not see a huge change on the scales, as you continue on your spin journey you will watch your body change and you will reap the benefits of strength, endurance and stamina.
